Hi everyone, I’m an architectural designer (from Europe) with 1.5 yrs experience. I’m working for a practice in San Francisco, full-time from the office, getting 25 an hour. It is so expensive to live here, I am struggling to make things work. Is this a normal salary for someone of my experience or should I ask for a raise? I don’t want to be greedy but it’s so expensive out here… Thank you 🌈

Super low dude (48k/year). Are you salaried or hourly? Fellow european here, working in SF, making 120k with 7 yoe. When i started working in the US back in 2017, I was making 60k with 2 yoe. Inflation alone since then means you should be making at least 75k

Same here, I make about 30$ per hour. I work in LA and I have 2 years of experience. Honestly I am thinking of a career change since you are in San Francisco I would advise to get connections in tech and IT. Maybe it’s time to design projects in meta verse

$25/hr is extremely low. They are underpaying you alot especially considering the cost of living in SF. Please ask for a substantial raise or move to another practise or city

I make $27.55 in Portland with 3.5 yrs experience and it is definitely not enough… came from New Mexico so cost of living has been a huge adjustment

Working Moms/Dads: Do in-house positions exist with flex time hours? I need to be able to leave work at 4pm to pick up my son from daycare, but i can get back online at home to resume any unfinished work at 8pm. Is this realistic to convey to any companies in an interview? Pandemic aside, is face time 9-7pm really important? Or should i just try to find a job with a salary that covers a nanny salary and accept that i will never see my son on weekdays (which would be sad for both of us)? TIA!

Hi all, recently in touch by Spotify recruiter for a Sec Engineer position for remote EU and was told that range was 60-80 out of base salary and equity.
