Can someone please for the love of god help me figure out how I can pay less income taxes? I only make 88k and I put the 12k standard deduction but I’m still getting taxed 27% of my paychecks! My sign on bonus (20 even) a few months ago was taxed nearly 45%! Excuse my ignorance, but am I doing something wrong? Will increasing deductions help or should I increase the withholdings? Hello everyone I live in Chicago. I have been teaching Preschool for over 15 years. I have a Bachelor’s in ECE, credential 5 with gateway. Now I work as a kindergarten Specialist. I wanted to relocate to some place warm, that has no problem with paying their staff. I am well rounded and have a lot of knowledge and experience. Any tips or suggestions.

I'm going to be teaching my first class when I finish school in January and I'm nervous. Any advice for my first day at school? Or what you wish you knew on your first day? It's my first real teaching job (1st grade) and I really want to do well.
