Word of caution: I looked for the same when I started my firm and did contract work for an out-of-state firm as local counsel for them. Turns out they wanted their paralegals to do all the work and for me to just be a signature for them. They are refusing to pay the outstanding money they owe me.
I’ve had good luck with local firms by sending them an email saying that I have experience in xyz so if they need contract help to contact me.

Right now, general civil lit and some family law Pro Bono work. But I want to transition to more estate planning and disability work.
Are you opting to do contract work because you don’t have enough revenue coming in currently from your practice?
If you want to to do more estate work, can you contact the family clients or other clients you previously had and ask about doing their Will?
You could do work for friends and family and it might pay similar to contract work.
Just some thoughts ...
I’m considering starting up my own solo but I don’t have much experience in the field I want to practice in. I thought maybe I could get some from contract work.
