In California it's warm all year. Not sure about your credentials or what transfers where. Best of luck.
Check out Edjoin website for California, but run the numbers and make sure requirements can be met from state to state.
You need to think about retirement too. Every state is different. I worked in Florida and paid Social Security. Then I moved to Missouri and needed to start over because we don't pay SS here. I won't get my full SS, and my years and salary are part of the retirement here.
In OK we pay social security and get teacher retirement. They have to do something for us since we are not Paid very well
I make 70k in Arkansas. It's way above cost of living here. It's warm most of the time but with distinct seasons.
But how many years did it take you to make that? If OP moves, some states don't even compensate you for all of those years.
San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools district in southern California is fantastic. https://www.edjoin.org/Home/Jobs?keywords=San%20Bernardino%20county%20superintendent%20&searchType=all
I know you guys have unions so you better STICK with states that also have REAL teacher unions like they have in Chicago. I guess you would be looking at a state out west. I wouldn't move here to the south. It's a bunch of straight up BS!!!
NY is not warm in the winter and I’m near Buffalo so we get pummeled by snow but I think it’s a pretty good state to work in!
My friend teaches in Georgia and the bs that she has to deal with would put me right over the edge, but she says it’s worth it to be in the warmth and close to the beach!!
Yeah, good luck with that. The further south you go, the smaller the check.
Warm is relative. Warmer than Chicago opens a lot of doors!! I love the DC area! We do get a winter - but nothing like y’all get. If it snows, we get snow days!!! Best thing ever! And the snow is gone in about week if it’s a “big snow”. I am able to golf year round. And there are several districts around DC that pay VERY well. I live in Maryland right outside of DC. The Montgomery County system is an excellent school system that definitely pays well. And it’s a nice place to live. Not sure how warm you are looking to get. But if it’s simply warmer than Chicago, this could be a cool destination.
Arizona ,mainly Phoenix and Tucson are mostly hot through out the seasons . Even in winter you would only need your car heater and not have to use heavy jackets as much compared to many other states . It gets cold but not to the point where it snows . I love it here ! Also you probably wouldn’t have to worry too much about your degrees not transferring because although degrees are loved and accepted they are not required to teach in a preschool setting especially a BS the only requirement for some are a high school diploma , what’s required is plenty of experience teaching in the field . Lastly check out this link about degrees not being a strong requirement. Hope this helps .

Try Georgia. We are friendly.
