I don't want to go back to school and start over with that process. Hi all, currently have 2 YOE in Info Assurance at a company that deals with PII and PHI daily. For the future I am torn between trying to get into a more forensics focused role or continuing this track into a security architect role. Either way I would like to move into a bigger company (possibly FAANG or somewhere like AbbVie). Junior corp associate at a V50 firm in NY. Just received offer a few days ago in Charlotte, a city I really want to live. However, the role is for cap mkts /asset securitization and esoteric assets, e.g., auto loans, railroad, etc. I value having some work life balance. I heard the hours in asset securitization / esoteric assets can be awful. The work is very complex / niche. Does this sound about right? I’m tempted to continue search in CLT even though this a top tier firm. Any thoughts? Thx!

Just found out that end of the year I will be promoted from analyst directly to VP and since it’s such a large jump I’ll be the lowest paid VP in asset management at only $135k TC. Should I stay it out and wait for TC to align or take the promotion and jump ship bc I will likely get paid more elsewhere given how recruiters/other companies eat up hiring recently promoted ppl from other firms?

In your honest opinion, do you think your HR certification was worth it? I personally think certifications are a scam. 😅
