Rising Star
I don’t know if I will leave, but the important thing for me is that I CAN. I am eligible for full retirement June 1, meaning anytime thereafter, I can take my ball and go home.
I haven't got any plans to pivot to anything else at this point. Looking out at the job market, it doesn't seem like a good time to be trying to land another job anyway. But who knows, perhaps like Ishmael I'll feel that damply drizzly November in my soul and feel the need to join the crew of a whaling ship. Well, metaphorically perhaps.
I love this!!!
Seriously thinking about jumping ship! I just haven’t figured out my next move. 🤣🤣🤣

Absolutely staying.
I love my job, and I'll be able to retire in 9 years.
I retired in 2018, after 32 years. I was 56. Since then, I was recruited to teach part-time at a Charter (by a former student, who is now my Principal).
I was NOT an easy decision, but, their system is VERY different.
In the middle of my 4th year. Probably do it for a few more.
Retiring at the end of 26/27 school year
Trying to pivot to something else
I started my second career in 2020 at age 50 with teaching. I find it very rewarding. I will work until 2032 when I can take SS. Not really a choice for me.
What is the 2nd career? How did you get started
STAYING!!!💙
Since I have only 8months of my teaching career left, I’m staying. But looking forward to full time tutoring!
I am retired & also have a BBA. So l do have some choices. But n̈ot beating down my door at 72 either!!!
Retired June of 2024. Best decision I ever made. Now I see 7 clients a week in private practice. I’d like to get back down to 5 clients, but the pressure to take on more is real
hoping to jump ship. love my school, love its mission, hate the admin
Staying in )
Jumping ship from the classroom! But would love to obtain more of a admin role.
Staying in because I have a few more years to go for retirement and I want to be fully vested before leaving teaching.
Am part-time this year and may reduce to subbing next year. Part of staying is to keep cheaper insurance. That and who knows what safety programs will be slashed next?
Having a baby in May and saying peace out!! ✌️
Retiring. And NOT because of the kids and families.
Retiring 4/1. Done
