Hi all, How do you deal with having a good relationship with an ex-colleague, and then that person switches jobs, becomes a hiring manager, is hiring for a position you’re perfect for (experience + credentials) and then you reach out to them saying you’re interested and why it would be a good idea - and then they completely ghost you..I also sent an application via the website and got rejected. I am really always trying to help out old coworkwrs with getting jobs, but this is just frustrating 🥲

Is it wrong that I’m just not into PE/VC? It seems to be the most desirable exit for most people that I work with. The work seems like it’s not a good fit for me but it feels crazy to pass up trying to get that amount of money when there really isn’t a realistic alternative to that amount of wealth (and I do want that amount of wealth).

I got feedback from my manager telling me that I should always have an opinion, which is very hard in group settings, esp. when people are talking about a topic unrelated to my module. Any thoughts ?

Recently started going through the interview process. I ended up going through 2 interviews in about a week. After the first interview I heard back the following day saying that they wanted to meet for a second one. It’s been about 4 days now since the second interview, which felt like it went great, and still haven’t heard anything. Am I being impatient or should I have heard back by now? I already sent a thank you message after the second interview, should I try to follow up again?

I’ve received a full time job offer from a company I have worked for remotely for the last 2 years (only traveling for productions), the only catch is I would have to move my life from a nice city with a lot of nature and outdoor opportunities to a large metropolitan city. My partner doesn’t want to move and I don’t think I do either. As a contractor, I work about 60-70 hours per week and have been grinding for two years. The full time people don’t get it any easier.
