This doesn’t “attack” higher ed. Tenure is an unneeded feature of some schools that accomplishes nothing positive. There’s a reason it doesn’t see an equivalent in the marketplace. The idea that a manager or business owner would be stuck with an incompetent or insubordinate employee is asinine.
Any why in the world would you want to stay at a school where you aren’t wanted?
This kind of comment always is indicative of a person who’s never led anyone in their life. Not surprising when dealing with a teacher. Most teachers seem to have zero practical leadership experience except for the coaches. And the coaches aren’t the people who talk about “tenure”.
Why not just admit that you need job security because you aren’t good enough to merit the position?
And our state ranking in ed is irrelevant. We have two horrible sets of huge districts in our cities that are anchors for us. Our small and rural schools are great. Our early childhood ed is a model for the nation and our vocational
Ed is innovative and on par with any state.
The funny thing is our cities with the big Ed problems are the bluest parts of this deep red state, and it’s some of those progressively run districts that struggle the most. And our internal issues with the Tribes causing friction in the management of the state doesn’t help.
You can insult us all you like. Feel free to reveal what state you are in and we can see how many people you are losing as they migrate to mine.
