Is getting a masters the only way to upskill in AI/ML techniques that would be credible to employers if my PhD was purely at the bench? Are there any alternatives that are similarly as credible? Like self-study or certificate programs?

I think its getting a masters & a solid corporate internship where you actually use the tools you learned. Degrees are just a stepping stone to get your foot in the door. The door is the internship/co-op or post-doc experience

like

Post docs and internships tend to require already having the skill from the PhD or prior work to be competitive for the position. Not much out there for learning a new skill other than more school to meet changing market demands or evolving interests as a scientist it looks like.

Hi all!

I'm a UK pharmacist hoping to qualify and work in the US. Is it still worth doing or any tips in general? I've read on Reddit there's a surplus of Pharmacists in the US. What are your views on that?

Thanks!

Hello everyone!

Currently looking to jump from Health Care to Pharma/Biotech. Does anyone work at Gilead and can serve as a reference? The current department I’m in, I do not fit the culture as it is a very archaic way of “managing” people. I have about a decade of a variety of work experience, majority in customer service/coordination/administration.

Would love any assistance if possible!

I accepted a $115K base salary, 13% bonus, 10k sign on bonus (scientist supervisor) job and two weeks later, got a $135K base, 17% bonus, and 15K sign on bonus (Senior scientist role) offer from another company. Should I accept the new offer ? How do I tell the previous company about this? Also, I’ve already negotiated with the first company and the $115K base is the negotiated salary. I really do not prefer one company over the other. They’re both great! I’m very confused here. TIA🙏
