It depends how you define "good place".
G1 is right that Google doesn't care too much about marketing. Google is an engineering-led business. Resourcing, attention and compensation reflect this.
But if you are in marketing at Google, you would have compensation higher than most places, great office perks, good wlb, and generally good culture.
What counts as a "good place" for you?
Thanks G2, yeah I meant more in tech marketing. For example, I heard PMMs at Stripe drive the product roadmap together with the PM and they get paid quite well. At Salesforce, they also get paid extremely well due to B2B SaaS relies heavily on marketing and sales, and seems like many of their execs come from that background as well as product management
This is very much my impression. I used to work for one of the marketing teams and my impression was that marketing is not valued and is often massively underfunded. As a result, PMMs do the bare minimum when they can, and that's all they have the time and resources to do.
