Is it just me or do interviews have so many more rounds than they used to? I had a recruiter call yesterday where they said there were 7 rounds of interviews for a non-manager operations role. In my opinion all it does is weed people out that are not as skilled at interviewing and makes people that are good at interviewing get the role.

Within my first year of Consulting, really struggling with the hours amongst other things. Spoken to a couple of people internally and the advice is to get on to projects with bigger budgets and therefore bigger teams/more support. I want to wait until I hit the one year mark before making a decision on whether Consulting is for me or not. Curious to hear from other experienced hires..how is/was your first year?
