Literally! I want to yell stop finding me!!!!🤣🤣🤣
But then I realize I do the very same to others and I swallow the scream🤣🫠
I don't mind that so much, it's just a formal way of opening a letter. I kind of like the old-fashioned ways of correspondence. Readings letters from centuries ago is always revelatory, people used to write such elegant sentences. And they really took pride in how they expressed themselves. Most of our email is just trash by comparison.
It's such a cringey work cliché but I don't think it is really a huge issue for me. I enjoy being polite and think the pleasantries of the past are nice. And with leading such robotic lives, especially at work, taking 10 seconds to add that in really shouldn't be a big deal.
LOL it does feel like this 100%. I don't know why people repeat these cliches over and over, like you think this makes me more open to whatever annoying thing you're going to ask me? Lol if anything, you've already upset me by the time I read past this sentence and I'm approaching the rest of the email in a *mood* lol
What would you suggest as an alternative opener for emails? Or do you just go straight to the point?
I wouldn't use it so much if I knew of any other way to begin my emails.

I spice it up but do have openers or closers but usually not both. It's a politeness thing for me instead of just always asking for things.
Yep this is literally me. I am like please stop finding me. I am already doing the job of three people and I myself am understaffed at this very moment. I wish that all the emails and phone calls would stop finding me so that I can get caught up on my work! HAHA.
