Anyone else into Bank Bonus churning?
Just signed the outside employment form in KPMG onboarding system. I actually wanted to start dabbling in creative writing as a potentially monetizable hobby, but I'm guessing this may pose issues.
Definitely interested in the "exception from this policy may be requested if provision of non-professional services doesn't interfere with one's duties of causes conflict of interest" clause, though. Has anyone been able to get one of those before?

Yes. One important aspect of Architecture is the oversight of a building's construction. The architect is the only professional qualified to make critical decisions regarding the physical environment being created. Bankers count the money. Engineers calculate the loads. Brokers buy the property from Brokers selling the property. ARCHITECTS make sure the glass windows are the correct dimensions and the glazers are using the exact caulking you specified in the architectural documents. Etc. The jo b doesn't end when you put your pencil down and the design goes to the client.
Unless of course, your design is rejected by the client. Then there's no need for construction administration. Is there?

Architect, realize that most of the tradesmen, even life-long highly skilled, don't know the language of blueprints and don't ever see the drawings you made to describe and build this building. Even the Crew Foreman might not realize that you speced an Alkyd paint for a very specific condition in the foyer. So he uses the same latex primer he's got on site. Oops
