Chat gpt is free and likely far superior to any life coach. In my experience life coaches exist because they couldn’t do their jobs well and needed some scammy bs to make money because no one would have them

Funny. In my experience the reason why people are unsuccessful with any kind of coaching is because people refuse to change and expect the coach to do all changes for them. It’s like weight loss goals. If you cannot bother going to the gym, there’s not much the trainer can do.
And it won’t be his fault. It’s yours.
I would say no
I’d get a mentor…unless your “coach” has industry connections that will actually land you a job, just ask someone you admire to do much with you once per month.
Then just ask someone who has the job you want. Often having the connection is what matters, and it’s good for their ego to be considered.
I paid 1500 CHF for a 6-8 session service of an executive coach and it changed my life. But I’m self employed. I can directly tie back hundreds of thousands of dollars of revenue to the things she had me do. You get out what you put in. They aren’t magicians.
I think that’s a great deal for the coach.
$200/hr to someone for self development is peak end-stage capitalism

I wouldn’t. Do they have any verifiable references? What is the supposed outcome of working with them? Sounds too much of a toss up and I wouldn’t do it.
They seem to help execs and professionals. Seems like they have verifiable references. Outcome may be more confidence
I use a career coach. The biggest thing is that you need to pick one specific thing to work on. Its important to have SMART goals. Like what are you working towards. What is one thing that you struggle with and you really need get up to speed with?
Confidence
All my friends that are professional coaches are ones that got chewed out by corporate. I would pay them $20/hour to paint my house and that is about it.
I went to highschool with someone who now calls herself a "professional coach." Purely because she couldn't find a job, and needed some way to make money. I'm not saying they are all like that, but some of them are, and I would not be taking that risk. Even if they are good at their job, what are you meant to get out of it?
Edit* The 12 session program also includes a one year membership for full access to resources and replay of live coaching calls. The value of that is typically valued at $1k but is included for free. The coach helps execs and professionals. Based on the above, do you think it's worth it?
