To con't the conversation on engagement rings💍 - what do they symbolize to you? My BF and I got into a discussion about this last night. He views them as an investment and an "asset" on the books for his future family. He also has grandparents who had to finance their trip to America by selling their jewels. I see the ring as more of a gift to the future bride that is an expense that can be sold for money if needed, but isn't an investment. I'm fine w/ lab grown, he is not. Thoughts?
What do finance guys want as a birthday gift from girlfriend? Budget is around $300-$500. I usually book flights or hotels, but I can’t do that this year.

I've seen folks around here ask for referrals to companies. I'm looking for a referral to KPMG's Data & Analytics practice at an equivalent level to EY manager (currently S3 here on track for promotion this upcoming year). How does that process usually work on this app? I'm open to other consulting firms as well but already have referrals for most of my targets. I specialize in AI & ML and my differentiator is being able to effectively translate between executives and data scientists.

Moving from big4 to core strategy firm (read MBB). Have 2 months before I join the new firm. Wondering what I can do to prepare myself, are there any courses, books that would help me gain some skills. I have mostly done PMO, tech implementations kind of work so far. Don't want to leave any stone unturned and want to make it work.
In house interviews: I finished a final round of interviews and was expecting a final decision after the interviews. Rather than yes or no, the recruiter told me that the feedback is positive but they need to interview one more candidate to compare since I am the first one interviewed. And they wanted to add one more meeting with their new team member starting next week. Is this common and what’s the best way to deal with this unexpected message? Thanks!
