Cognizant Recently cognizant have changed their internet wfh allowance policy.we use to get 1800 per month as internet allowance without submitting any bills or transaction details. Now they changed the policy as we need to apply for icici/axis/hdfc credit card from there we need to make the transaction and reimburse the same. I am ok with everything but why i need to apply for credit card? How a company can force me to have a credit card? It will directly/indirectly alter the credit score right? Cogniza

Interesting idea but I wouldn’t want to spend money to make money but I can see the productivity point. Some people turn their sheds into cool office spaces, like tiny homes.
Yes, a few of us rent an office within 10 minutes of our homes. The benefits are:
- better focus (not seeing the lawn needing to be cut, etc)
- closing the laptop and a short commute to allow the break/transition from work to home life
- better lunch options
- professional camaraderie (ability to vent, bounce ideas, or hear things outside our silo)
- no confusion with spouse or children on working or not
Yes, I have a coworking space close by that also has great food and various social & networking events in the evenings. It’s a nice break from WFH and closer than my office.

Same, a lot of them also have flex options (open desk space vs private office) that can be fairly cost effective. We started doing this in summer 2020 and never looked back.
it’s nice to see i’m not alone in this feeling. looking into coworking spaces has been of great interest though i worry with my work being a potentially triggering topic for others to overhear (rape/sexual assault) and interrupting their work flow. i’ve found myself even missing the commute being able to listen to music/podcasts to get ready for the day and decompress at night.
not something i thought much of, thank you!
Do you have co-working spaces near you? That would be cheaper.
We have about 50 independent coffee shops within a 15 minute drive here, and a ton of breweries, so I just rotate those when I need a change of scenery.
I'm in a smaller market, but we do have two near me. Looks like from $25 for a day pass to $450 for your own private office. Not too bad.
You’re going to spend money to avoid coworkers? Yikes. Are you sure you don’t just need another job?
My company doesn't have an office here, I'm fully remote. I was just saying I don't want to be mandated to come to an office, no matter how much I like my peers. But I would like a place to work from time to time that is not under my roof.
