It depends on how in-demand your skillset is. If you practice in an area where bodies are limitless, it’s easier for employers to drive a hard bargain. If you practice in a specialty where your skillset is less readily available, places that want those skills will be more flexible about their RTO/comp expectations.
Honestly, I hardly even see fully remote roles anymore. And like you said when I do, there are already hundreds of applicants. I think RTO is the new norm.
