There's nothing wrong with exploring your options. Without more details it's hard to give direct advice. However, when I lateraled as an associate, I was pretty happy where I was, but was just generally curious about my market value.

It’s not a waste of time for us. Ultimately, not everyone we work with will make a move. We know that when we start working with you. That being said, it’s our job to help educate you about the market and help you make the best decision you can. I work for a national company with offices in every major legal market and would be happy to talk with you at your convenience.

What do you think when you see someone’s calendar and it’s packed wall to wall for days on end or for weeks out? Multiple overlapping appointments and invites from early AM to after 6pm. Are these people really that busy and, when it’s someone on your career/promotion track, is this what I have to look forward to?? How do you get anything done?

I have worked in consulting for three years, worked in industry for 3 years prior to that, and have an MBA. I have the opportunity to move to a top 4 firm. What should I ask for in regards to potential promotion and/or salary bump? I don’t want to short change myself as this would be a promotion year for me at my current firm, however I find this conversations so uncomfortable. I currently make 90k base, and think I am underpaid as I am consistently put into stretch roles. Thanks for reading!

Interview had a ton of brain teasers and cases and I feel like I bombed it under pressure, not sure if everyone did bad since they were difficult or I’m just exhausted and dumb.

Learned there’s an “excise tax” for over contributing to 401k. I was within the limit before my raise, but now I’m over. Also over the limit for a Roth IRA. Should I reduce contribution?....
