Tips for bankruptcy associates who eventually want to move in-house? 3rd year associate in bankruptcy/restructuring group doing mainly bk lit but a few deals too. Need to stay in BL for at least another year for the money, but eventually want to move in-house. The path to in-house seems more straightforward for general commercial lit or more standard transactional practices. Any tips for someone who’s practice is a bit of a hybrid (and who will never likely do discovery or handle a depo)

For those who moved from a client serving role to an internal role in public accounting while at a fairly high level (experienced manager or senior manager), did you take a pay cut or does your pay stay flat when you transition with minimal increases in subsequent years? We live in Florida and currently have a Freshman in High School and a 16 month old. We hear from our friends and family with college bound children "I wish we would have done Florida PrePaid." After obviously ignoring this for years, we are finally trying to do it before "it's too late" for both children.
