It just amazes me at how many people think that all they have to do is post a message looking for work on a social media platform like Glassdoor, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. and people will just come to them without even taking the time and effort to actually look for opportunities themselves and apply for them. By just posting a message looking for work on a social media platform, the only work you will find is having scammers coming after you.

Mine barely post anything on LinkedIn, so commenting on their posts is out of the question, and apparently it's impolite to just message or email them if the job searcher doesn't have anything to share besides asking for a referral or opening. If I don't have any relevant information to share with them, what should I do?

Just got let go and my manager said part of it was because I was looking for other jobs.
