Absolutely it’s the best way to get more $
Yeah
Yep it's pretty much the case in my experience. I've tried staying with one agency for a few years but there's always account shifts, team changes, etc. that upend things and create unnecessary drama. My advice is to not job hop so frequently that it becomes glaringly obvious on your resume but don't remain loyal to an agency. Go where the money is, get paid, get rich, or commit tax fraud.
I’ve typically seen the guideline as get promoted or jump ship every 2-3 years
Same in house. Once you realize raises and bonuses are rare and promotions are rarer then it becomes rational to hop every 2 years or so to maximize pay and scale up the ladder. Many decide to slow down when they hit director level because that’s usually when pay equals a comfortable middle class life. Below that it’s too close for comfort.
Thanks for that guidance. I’m at the point where I’ve maxed out my ranking up as a “doer” and now it’s time to step into a manager role. Not going to happen where I am at right now so I think it’s time to jump ship. Will be scary to enter a new agency and also have to learn a new level of working but I believe it will be worth it
