What do you do if you hate your partner?

With the holidays fast approaching, I can't help but wonder why I've pigeonholed myself into a career path that keeps me away from family at crazy hours and days. I miss birthdays, holidays; you name it. Three years in, I can see why divorce rates are so damned high.

I have been married for 3 years. We have been trying to have a baby and found out my husband is shooting blanks and requires surgery to possibly resolve that. Recovery is 4 weeks and he refused. He is also not open to adopting or fostering or using someone else’s sperm. What do I do now?

I’m what you’d call the “good kid” I always got to see the bad kids get away with stuff my whole life and I thought having a moral compass would pay off but a lot of times I feel jerks move ahead....

Is there a polite/gentle way to talk to your boyfriend about the fact that he has gained a lot of weight in the past year and needs more physical activity in his life?

I am not a very shallow person — he was already on the heavier side when we met. But when I look at photos from just a year ago, it’s clear he’s put on a lot of weight. I am worried about his health. Let's say Family consists of husband , wife and a kid . I understand we will get good facilities, education, cleanliness , good air etc , however I wanted to check whether people gel up easily in the new environment? I was hired on with a company at the same time as my male coworker. We work the exact position, different projects.
I asked him flat out what his salary was when he hired on. His salary is at minimum 15% more. He’s never had a raise.
Neither one of us had any experience in this specific position but he didn’t even have experience in the field, which I did.
I requested a performance and salary review because it’s my annual review time anyway. Best way to address this? Also applying elsewhere.
