It’s self evaluation season at my firm. One of my self evaluation questions is “what don’t you like about your job?” Is there any upside for answering this question honestly? Truth is there’s a lot that I don’t enjoy about the job and I’m actively looking for an exit opportunity. (I obviously don’t intend to mention that last part)

Why is it ok to work hard on your craft to get something just for someone else not as good as you get the job due to political status?

A colleague told me today that Google separates Product Manager and Product Owner as two separate roles. I believe that one PM role is preferred in the industry and most modern software companies, especially FAANG companies, only have PMs. Just curious what others have experienced and if I'm correct in my assumption.

Interested in working in PE, but experiences align more with the Ops side (3 YOE in strategic value creation). Is there a significant difference in total comp potential between ops and investments roles? Not sure how to make a case to break into investments with minimal DD experience, so thinking about Ops recruitment (Associate). Would also be grateful to learn about potential strategies non-DD focused consultants have used to ultimately break into investment teams.
