Not experienced the Revit workflow specifically but I think it's a general micromanager problem.
I know it feels kind of overwhelming/frustrating (and it is) but have you felt the other end of this spectrum, where you get a blank sheet, struggle to find direction, nobody giving you feedback, and then you get all the blame when it's shit 🤣. I've been at both ends and the micromanager end is the lesser of the 2 evils I think. There's room for pushing both those scenarios towards the middle balanced position. I think you need to make your feelings known to your manager but in a way that they take it well.
If you do all you can to make it a pleasant conversation, and they still don't take it well, then it's genuinely not a place you want to stay at, it'll just get more toxic
If he doesnt know how to use Revit he shouldn't be messing with the model. Tell him to make markups on printed sheets like a normal person. I had a PM who kept using it like CAD, dragging plan areas off to the side not understanding why it didn't magically get worked back into the other views. Screws up a lot of work efficiency if you have to clean up your boss's drool all day.
