The best store I've ever worked at was a small family-owned business called "The Daily Grind." The owners were tremendously passionate about their store and its products, which consisted of freshly roasted coffee beans, specialty teas, and related accessories.

Trader joes are where I work and is well known for having an unprecedented work culture in retail stores, on top of this they offer a lot of flexibility with the issue of hours and work shifts, they basically let you create your own hours as an employee, and the pay It is good compared to other retailers.

Back before I joined the corporate world, I worked at a Hannaford Grocery Store. Best four years of my life right up until I had to bounce because of a nasty divorce. I didn’t make a lot of money, but the friendships I gained and the love that followed were worth it.

I worked with Tractor Supply Company for almost 20 years and it was the best job I had. They have a strong Mission and Values which created a great culture. I miss it every day. Great company and people.

At Costco, you might earn around an hourly rate of $12.96 per hour for a grocery associate position and up to $50.60 for a food manager position. In comparison, salary ranges tend to range from $20,000 to $92,623.

I worked at Nordstrom and this retailer employs both part-and full-time employees and offers many employee benefits including paid time off, employee discounts, and both health and dental insurance.

I work at HEB, I started with a salary of $9.30 but now I'm already at $15 an hour with very good benefits and I'm barely 2 years old, besides that the hours are very friendly and the work culture of the company focuses on respecting the worker for that he feels identified with the company and they achieve it in an excellent way.

Nebraska Furniture Mart employs both part- and full-time staff members and offers a fast-paced environment for its employees to thrive. It offers its employees perks like paid time off, professional development opportunities, and competitive pay. At Nebraska Furniture Mart, you can earn about $12.50 to $19.27 per hour or $24,000 to $87,210 per year for a salaried position.

The best store I ever worked at would have to be Macy's. It was a great place to showcase my customer service skills, as well as learn new ones. The team there was incredibly tight-knit and everyone was always willing to lend a helping hand or provide useful advice. The supervisors were always patient and understanding of any difficulties we encountered while working, and they had a great way of motivating the staff through positive reinforcement and rewards.

The best store I ever worked at was a local boutique in my hometown. Not only did the store have an inviting atmosphere with beautiful display cases and merchandise, but the employees were also incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. The staff was always willing to help customers find what they were looking for or offer advice on fashion trends, so it was a great place to work!

The best store I’ve ever worked at was an outdoor sporting goods and apparel shop in my hometown. Not only did they have great products and friendly staff, but they had a fantastic team atmosphere that created an enjoyable work environment. Everyone helped each other out no matter the task! From helping customers find the perfect pair of shoes to keeping the shelves stocked it was always a team effort.

A little, locally-owned souvenir shop. I loved having tourists as customers because they were always so happy and excited to be there.

Not a store per say but the Y. I think the manager is a sweetheart and almost all our members are fantastic and super sweet! In addition you tend to just get a lot of things working there. I’ve gotten so far:

A bottle of freshly made chocolate milk from a local creamery (a man brought in a bunch to give to someone and gave one to me)

Multiple house plants (someone grows different plants and brings extras)

Plenty of tshirts (our manager has a box of extra sports shirts in a closet we get free reign over)

Any expired food and drinks I want (used for the concession stand. Includes pops and candy)

Super sweet people. Super awesome stuff. Super recommend to anyone in high school looking to keep busy

I enjoyed my time with Hannaford. I worked in many of the stores out in the central area of the company

I guess it not all stores are the same my region ain’t so good

So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. I have a whole bunch of certifications in my industry…but just no formal degree. (cont'd)
