I've been contacted for initial interviews for three Amazon roles. I already went through one initial interview, and have a loop interview scheduled for next week.

I've also been contacted to set up initial interviews for two of the other positions.

This has apparently sent my recruiter into a tizzy... She's telling me that I need to select only one path and must withdraw from the other two roles.

Can I not put my eggs into more than one basket? I'd hate to close two doors just by opening one

Don’t go to Amazon go to any other company

I would say the same. It all depends on what team you land in. However, interviews and getting a job these days can be challenging. But totally in agreement with Microsoft (find something else if you can) for someone that has moved across different teams within a 5 year span(yellow bordered badge here) . That culture can in fact be toxic and draining Ive seen an empath transforms into a total A**hole until eventually taking an extended leave of Absence due to their environment influencing and draining their life out. Sweetest lady Ive met she didnt last two years and got out a totally new person. If you’re a female be ready to be corporately belittled ow and HR is just there to make sure ER is in the know on how to best protect corporate. I’ve seen some wild stuff happen within teams and ohh please just do yourself a favor and keep applying for another job in the meanwhile as wether you’ve been there 1 day or 10years when the layoffs come which with new Ai and a little slip from our current stock will comme. You’re out the door with a miserable severance package if any( which reminds me kinda discuss that to see if you have one with your recruiter; time it well). Not all positions have it. Ok done let me go back to see where those folks are at with my project….

I had the same situation with 2 roles. The recruiter also sounded like I should just pick one. However, I just expressed that my top interest was the role they were looking to fill but would like to see how expectations differed between the 2 roles before I made the decision to withdraw from the other roles. I advised them that once I talk to the hiring manager to get a better feel for expectations, I'll withdraw my candidacy from the other roles.

I, however, did not because I knew how brutal Amazon interviews can be and wanted both options open. Luckily the recruiter never brought up that subject again. At the end of the day, I withdrew my candidacy from both roles. I wasn't a fan of the robotic structure of their interviews which gave me a feel for their culture.. A culture, I felt like I wouldn't thrive in.

I’m starting to have the same feelings.

Both are roles that sound exciting to me… however, like you, the culture seems a bit too robotic. These are both L6 positions, which seems to have some Amazon prestige, but the more I read about career advancement at Amazon, the more it seems like a total cutthroat culture that I don’t care to play politics in.

Thanks for your feedback.

Has anyone else come across this "problem" - if so, how did you resolve it?

Am I really going to have to go through multiple loop interviews? It's kind of turning me off to the process.

It seems like a company like Amazon can recognize a candidate may have skills and experience that make them a good fit for multiple roles. Why not let them find the best fit accordingly?

I’d say it’s because the rec isn’t theirs, are the job families the same or different?

Two of the roles were sent to me by the same recruiter... The third was something I found on their website while searching.

The two she passed along are quite similar, and could potentially feed up to the same manager based on their description.

I just don't see how interview tracks can't be done in parallel.

What’s your take on a job listing that states “From $xx,xxx”

The particular job I’m looking at has this on the listing and I’m curious as to what their budget actually is. Do I assume a range?

They’re seeking someone with 5-8 years experience. I have the latter (8 almost 9)

How would I approach this when asked without pricing myself out of the position? Especially if they’re not willing to be upfront (assuming here) how much they’d want to offer me in particular.

I have gotten a verbal offer from Facebook, but I just had my phone screen interview with the hiring manager at Amazon yesterday. I want to reach out to the recruiter at Amazon and let them know what the timeline looks like. I would much rather have the Amazon job over the Facebook one. But I’m afraid if I decline Facebook then Amazon won’t happen. I’m just completely lost.
