Disney Streaming Services I completed my interview process with DSS early last week, and was reached out by recruiter that all rounds were strong hires, and they are extending an offer. We set a time to talk on Friday about the offer. However, the announcement of targeted hiring freeze happened on Friday. I was ghosted with no call. What should I expect now? Would I still have chance to be offered?
Can we take leaves while serving NP?

It's probably like that it's not so much a vendetta against you as just a reflection of the current job market. A lot of organizations seem to be holding back on doing any hiring. Perhaps you might do some networking with former associates and try to get some insight as to what's going on internally at the bank. I suspect it's not something to take personally, just a reflection of uncertain times.
Yup. I feel the same way. Job postings are a scam.
Your inability to get hired, I would chalk it up to the extremely competitive hiring climate right now, and firms that have national credibility and recognition are at the top of the list of desired employers for candidates. Plus, internal candidates take priority versus externals, not to say your experience with WF is not desirable, but it’s not interchangeable.
My wife is a District Manager for Wells Fargo, and I can assure you that, at least for her group (Community & Small Business Banking), they absolutely do not post requisitions for jobs that they aren’t actively trying to fill. Actually, they are super conservative in opening requisitions period. They would rather borrow teams members from branches who’s staffing model is over by 15 hours, and deploy those 15 hours at a branch that is short by 25-30, and they will just figure it out with what they have for the balance.
She needs to beg the Region Executive to let her open requisitions.
So if it’s like that for the most visible group and LOB with the highest household penetration, I can’t imagine that hiring practices would stray too far away from that baseline company wide, especially with Charlie at the helm.
I worked for Wells for 22 years before jumping due to location strategy. I have never seen them post jobs that don't exist, but they do change their minds. For example, they need 3 Financial Crimes specs for Sanctions, it is approved and posted, then a decision is made to offshore a team of CDD folks. They decide to take the top 3 folks on the team from CDD and lay the other 5 off, cancel the req.
I wouldn't trust the job posts as an indication for job openings. It's mostly a way for Karen the hiring manager to keep up her candidate pipeline KPI at the right level.
Many places claim to be hiring when they aren't. Or they are filling positions extremely slowly, I'm talking glacially slow. It's probably less about you and more about the job market right now.
Why do they post openings when they don’t plan to hire? Is it to meet some sort of requirement?
You should feel relieved because you dodged a bullet. WF has terrible culture and is firing more than they’re hiring. They shrunk headcount ~70k in 4 yrs and now that the asset cap is lifted and little Jamie Dimon is Chairman it won’t get better.
Some employers simply choose not to bring back former staff as a rule. This tends to happen more in tightly regulated fields like healthcare, education, banking, or government, where there are higher risks, strict oversight, or union rules that influence hiring decisions. Have you tried Citizens?
Wow! The treatment sounds intentional. Someone's holding a grudge against you for choosing your family over the company. Let the company kiss where the sun doesn't shine and take your talents elsewhere. Since you have a financial background, have you considered insurance companies?
I totally get that. Due to family situations and priorities, I have been out of work for over a year. One would think I joined a gang or the cartel or something. SMH.
There are hundreds of applicants per job rec ,and recruiters prioritize people who are employed. Which does suck
Why did you leave JPM if you don’t mind me asking?
