Hi,
I have joined ACTI a month back in Kolkata in L9. I wanted to opt for Company Car Lease policy just to save TAX but finding it too complicated.
I had raised queries to payrole and they have replied with a suggestion to think twice before opting for this benifit.
What do you all suggest, who have already opted for it?Accenture

Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?

This company is one that makes excuses to under-pay all their employees based upon a rigid, and flawed compensation program. I would move on.
Even if you negotiate higher pay, there will be no upward pay mobility next year.
Your experience should place you In the right internal level. If not you value your experience more then they do. Id have that discussion but there’s only so much you can do. Just like they can choose not to negotiate you can choose to accept or reject the offer.
Internal bands are real, but they’re not the end of the road. I’ve found it helps to negotiate around the band title calibration, bonus structure, equity, or even a written compensation review timeline.
Why wouldn’t it be adaptable because your candidates aren’t all going to be cookie-cutter candidates they all bring different things – education, experience, even professionalism.
I know today is a different job market than any other time we’ve had before at least in my experience, and adhering to strict salary bands for companies does not make them more competitive – it almost brings up a red flag. Especially if they’re trying to lowball you on that salary.
