Is there an analogy you could make to help him understand? Some people can’t naturally empathize so you need to find other ways of communicating it.
My husband and I are such different people that sometimes we struggle with making the other understand. I try to be incredibly specific. Whatever is happening to you, can’t sleep, making simple mistakes at work, talk about those instead of just saying you’re burned out. Also, if you have a plan, talk about that, you need support in a certain way, or if you are searching for a less demanding job.
When I started burning out I think it was pretty obvious to everyone around me, though I'm sure everyone is different it how it shows up. If your husband can't understand what you're going through, try explaining how things that used to give you pleasure or entertainment now don't even register. Or, if you have specific symptoms, discuss those in detail so he'll grasp what's going on with you.
