I've graduated with a business degree and I guess I didn't realize how competitive the job market was going to be. I heard there's something like 100 to 200 or more applicants for every entry level role. How am I going to get my resume to stand out in numbers like that?

100-200? My company had 13,000 applicants for a summer internship program that hired 50 interns last year.

It’s about networking and referrals.

If you feels something in you stands out differently with other candidates, highlight it out in your resume.

It really is rough out there right now. Cold applying isn't really the way to go. If you have connections somewhere chat with them and see if they can offer a referral.

Ask your university for job placement and career services. They should have a dept there that handles that. If you are not sure, check with student services dept first. Good luck.

Job market is especially rough right now so give yourself a little grace. But networking truly is the name of the game.

Lie about something extravagant/ try to be funny? Ex: “ Three years of working as an assistant for Kim Kardashian”.

Hello! I’m gearing up for my year end comp conversation and I’d like to be a better idea of what people are making to ask for a raise. I work for a large asset manager and sell alternative investments (PE, RE, Credit, Infra etc) to RIAs, family offices, and multi family offices. I’m currently an associate, but am hoping to get VP this cycle. Any insight on what your comp looks like and how it’s structured would be super helpful!

I have been looking at the curriculums for Harvard Business School's Master of Business Administration and Harvard Extension School's Master's in Management. They both have the same requirements, generally speaking, including a field immersion course that serves as a capstone in the Master's in Management, which is fairly new. If I am not able to gain admission to Harvard Business School, but wanted a similar educational experience to become a consultant, should I attend Harvard Extension?
