Adderall 5 mg in morning w/coffee and coffee in afternoon. Afternoon adderall if I intend a late night of working. I do this around 4-5 days / week only. Otherwise I build tolerance and get side effects including sleep issues and hyper focus - which isn’t good for my job.

like

Vyvanse is best , I’m on 60mg , but been on it for a long time

I highly recommend the genetic tests that tell you what meds will work for you. All it is is a cheek swab they do

BIA 1—I answered that above

Caffeine and morning exercise have helped but my partner is hoping that I can get my ADHD symptoms a little bit more under control. I was taking Vyvanse which I liked and it helped, but concerned about long-term stimulant use. There have been some studies I've read where it increases your likelihood of developing Parkinson's and I have a family history. Trying to weigh the pros and cons of getting back on it

like

Same. Im concerned about heart disease from long term use. I used to take Vyvanse and now just use coffee instead. I noticed Vy made me alert so no afternoon post meal crashes. However, i still needed to put the effort to goal set and focus. Plan to speak to my dr if there are other meds i should be trying

like

Straterra and it’s been life changing. It took a little bit to adjust to but it’s really helped with my overwhelm and the physical symptoms that I used to think were anxiety (irregular heart beat, inner restlessness - which resulted in pacing or eating or not being able to relax).

like

It really was adhd. It was this inner revving that I couldn’t turn off. It showed up in a lot of physical symptoms and the internal mental loop was never really spirally on worst case scenario but more not being able to turn off my internal dialogue. So I was constantly planning over analyzing or getting stuck making decisions and then re-over analyzing. So it was a combo of my brain literally never shutting up, and my body feeling restless.

like

I just started wellbutrin. I was on it a few years ago for anxiety/depression and learned it is also good for ADHD so when I decided to start managing the ADHD I chose to go back on it.

like

I’m on Wellbutrin and Straterra

I just started Concerta and so far it's been pretty good. I was trying to avoid the stimulant route, but nothing else was working so I guess I have no choice.

like

Generic Adderall, the XR. Been on it for almost 10 years

like

It’s extended release

I’m on that ADDERALL!!!! 🥳 I was on instant release (5mg, 2/day) but it was cutting my appetite REALLY BAD 😬 so I got put on extended release (5mg, 1/day) but I don’t feel it works as well as instant release 🤔

like

Adderall

like

You might need higher dose. Also by “working” do you mean you’re still distracted or you just don’t notice it? The drug effect shouldn’t be too noticeable other than an improvement in focus

Concerta

smart

I take Medikinet (methylphenidate XR). Doesn’t work as well as amphetamines but the side effects are much more manageable for me now.

like

Never heard of it. I’ll look into it. Thank you!

I've been on Adderall for a long while until the whole Adderall shortage started going down. I've since transitioned into taking Vyvanse and so far it's been pretty good. How about you, OP?

like

What’s your dose ?

Strattera. 15 days now, still nothing.

I take 10mg of adderrall, twice per day. I've been on this dosage for about two months now and it doesn't really seem to be working as well anymore. I think my doctor needs to increase my dosage.

like

I think dosages are a bit person specific , that would do nothing for me but others find it too strong

Hello! I am on adderal for a while now. I also lessen my caffeine intake and stay away from coffee.

like

Wow. I was diagnosed as an adult but I take 30 mg IR 3xs a day😳

I take 2 x 10mg immediate release adderalls a day

Just started Strattera - focus is a little improved, but anxiety is UP so unsure if it's right for me

I may need to ask my doctor about this one. I keep hearing good thigns.

I just started meds yesterday and the change in my focus and attention to detail is mind blowing. My only concern is, just yesterday I had a tough feedback session with my manager around how I’m taking too long to complete my work, giving them anxiety around close deadlines. I’m new in the job (3 months in). Should I explain anything about my adhd to my manager or just wait for them to notice the change in me?

So today was my first day on a stimulant (diagnosed as an adult), and everyone says its suppose to feel like *boom* magic, or normal (?) , I guess. Knowing that is figurative, what should I actually be expecting? I feel mostly the same, I think, though I came in and actually did started my work today. But I mean, somedays I do that...I just don't want to psyche myself out if I'm expecting too much. Or pscyhe myself in if I actually might not be experiencing what I should.

I've asked for help, and, to avoid a long post, she expects me to figure it out. Perhaps you go through this too, but when I don't have a clear guide on completing big projects, it paralyzes me because I don't know where to start. On top of that, I have anxiety, so "it has to be perfect".
