McKinsey & Company How likely is McKinsey to rescind an offer if there's a recession/downturn before my start date? Received an Associate offer with a start date early in the Fall. But I'm worried about the offer being rescinded due to the ongoing McK scandals/issues and a potential recession in the making (which may prompt them to freeze hiring and/or renege offers).
Has this happened to anyone before at McKinsey, offer getting rescinded due to economic/company downturn? A bit worried

4. I’m getting a lot of training from my peers, but how do you want success in my role to be measured?
Think bigger-picture. A lot of newbies are focused on doing their functional job well, but try to put yourself in the shoes of a Sr. Manager. What do you think she is concerned about? How can you connect her concerns to your role? What is the overall business strategy of the company and what part do you play in that?
Also, just be curious about her role. What is day-to-day life like for a Sr. Manager? How did she get there? What challenges did she overcome? If you end up hitting it off, you might ask if you can continue these 1-on-1 meetings periodically or maybe if she is open to being your mentor.
I'd ask how my role fit into the big picture and how I could contribute in more/better ways. Like the last commenter stated, it's easy to get caught up in the day to day minutia, especially when you're new, but your manager's manager will want to see you expand your horizons.
You can ask broader questions about the role and the company since its early days, but also feel free to ask her questions that come up during training. She is trying to be helpful and track your progress, so make the most of it
Ask about the training dynamic since you already have questions about that. Maybe talk a bit about the next couple months and what the company's focus is on at the moment - how can you support that in the next 3 months, 6 months, etc.? And like someone said above, you never know... you might hit it off & find a new mentor!
I would ask questions regarding upward trajectory and career growth. I always like to think of where I want to be five years from now and ask questions that will help me get there.
