Being calm and graceful
Rising Star
This!
Someone who is consistent in their actions and words. I also think it is someone who will get in the trenches with their people when things get really busy. A steady leader isn't someone who is micromanaging their people.

Consistency is such a big one. When words and actions match, people can actually relax and focus on their work instead of reading between the lines.
When everything’s an emergency, and management’s always freaking out about something, that’s a sign of incompetence and failed leadership. Setting legitimate priorities and letting staff do their jobs according to a well-communicated strategic plan with well-defined objectives and metrics is a sign of good leadership. How you handle the inevitable true emergency proves you’re either in the right place or wrong place as a leader.

Agreed. When everything is treated like an emergency, nothing actually gets prioritized well. Clear strategy and defined metrics make a huge difference in how steady a team feels.
Micromanagers, and managers who act like everything is on fire are the two worst types of managers. It is impossible to be a good employee with any of that going on. I have so much respect for the managers who don't forget that we are all human, and that wasting our time and energy with anxiety slows down the process, it doesn't speed it up.
Rising Star
Yes it’s the worst

Absolutely - you need someone that is there for the team to keep their cool but always get stuck into the work to help everyone out too.

Exactly
