Absolutely no don’t do it. Lateral to a diff in house role with better comp or room for advancement.
Would love to hear more.
That small a compensation, with no opportunity for growth, will make you a failure for life. Leave.
We're in very different in-house worlds, so maybe this doesn't apply to PE, but I also left BL as a junior to pretty dismal pay. 2 jobs later I'm 400k+ all-in. Each jump to a different company was a dramatic increase in comp. I'm C/O 2020
Didn’t switch markets. 170k, switched jobs to 250k, raises and promos got me to ~320k, switched jobs to ~430k. WLB went from bad to good (by IHC standards)

What's the scope of your role? What practice area were you previously in?
Insightful. Agree I approach external counsels differently even with the little Biglaw experience I have. Also dumbfounded how disrespectful some on my side can be, including low level staff, toward seniors/biglaw partners. Wild.
How Jr were you when you left and why did you leave?
Sounds like you jumped too soon. Go back, get the training, and leave for a better in house opportunity in a few years.
Ditto. Great experience though.
