Just got a parking ticket I think is unfair. Is it worth fighting, and if so, does anyone have tips for navigating that system?

Just pay it tbh, I got one last year that also seemed very unfair, there was like 5 different signs stacked with each other that you had to read in order to figure out which exact windows of time you could park there and they were covered by a tree. I set up a request for a court date and I got a response that was kind of bullying me out of fighting it, saying that I shouldn’t be requesting court dates for such things and I’d end up losing anyways since I had no substantial claims. So I ended up just paying the $35 🙃

Pretty much lol

Is this a ticket issued by the city? Or were you in one of those scammy pay-to-park lots downtown.

Because, that will determine the way you handle things.

Parking is pretty cut and dry. You either parked somewhere you weren’t supposed to, or didn’t.

What makes your situation so “unfair”?

If you were in the wrong pay it.

Pay it . Use the app for parking it’s clear and picks up the zone . ..most streets around central are residential permit only, while the rest charge on all days except for Sundays. Gone are the old Austin days of free parking .

Job transition question: I recently accepted an offer for a new role with Merrill Lynch, the following day I was fired from my previous employer. I haven’t filled out the updated work history background check info yet. The reason for termination was due to performance expectations not being met. Should I reach out to my new employer and let them know that I’ve been terminated? Should I just put the termination update on the background check form and leave it at that? Wondering what I should do.

Do companies sometimes offer "gifts of appreciation" if you're not selected for a merit increase? My manager randomly called me to let me know I was chosen for the "gift" this year bc of my "hard work & dedication", except now I'm learning other colleagues are receiving actual merits.
I mean it's possible that I may receive a merit, but I feel like I won't considering my manager never brought it up & the dept update made it sound like those receiving it should know by now.

I rented a house that had been vacant for a bit & the prior tenant didn’t do a thorough job cleaning up. Agent indicated the owner would be open to having the house cleaned but I would need to have the house professionally cleaned when I moved out (that was fine w me). I just received the bill from the owner for $250, which is super annoying bc there was no expectation communicated that I would foot the bill for this, more so bc the cleaner did a LOUSY job. My partner and I bought our home back in 2020. We got a good deal, low rate. But we want to move into a more spacious SFH. However, as we all know this market is crazy. Everything we want costs $620k+ and bc of rates it makes our mortgage estimates $3500+. We are currently paying $2k. And it looks we need to sell the house simultaneously as look for a new one or our contingency isn’t as attractive. I know it’s based on personal circumstances. But what would you do? - not move, sell and buy?
