Insight on Venable?
I recently joined TCS but I was moved into very different project which was told during hiring. Also they told me for joining incentive but later after 65 days of joining they didn't give saying your business aproval got rejected. I really want to be with TCS but due to project dissatisfaction, I am looking for different job. I am not sure if I can leave the organisation soo soon(4 months) and it should not effect my carrier.

Academic freedom and editorial independence should have won out here unless there are material facts not currently public. By the sound of it i would have vigorously disagreed with the article and found it offensive but the whole point is that not controlling.
As I understand it, it was not the entire law review. A subset of the law review created a secret listserv and secret shared drive to edit the documents so the rest of the law review would not find out. Typically an article would be shared with more of the law review as well as those who have critical viewpoints to make the content of the article stronger. Topic aside, this piece did not run the gauntlet in that way and some students believe that it is a weaker piece as a result.
Is law the only field where students run the academic journals?
I don’t think academic freedom means you get to publish whatever you want wherever you want. I got into law journal and had an article published in it presumably due to the quality of my legal research and reasoning. I assume the journal and the BoD has standard criteria by which they evaluate pieces for publication, which are independent of topic or viewpoint. Apply those.
Oh, got it - thanks for the clarification.
But the BoT does have a fiduciary duty to act in the best interests of the university, right? Seems like they would have power to veto actions they believe would be detrimental.
