It's something that happens to all of us, but that's not why it becomes routine. I think there should be some law that prohibits us as workers from doing these things.

It's a bad way to start the week, it's unfortunate that people don't respect humans for the simple fact of being human.

I have always thought that we need something to protect us, we are always exposed to this type of client, what is more, I can assure you that many know that they can yell at us and the most common thing is that we do not respond.

Something similar happened to me but in my case, for some reason, the billing system of the store shut down, the customer and everyone in line yelled at me and asked to speak to the manager and the manager told him that the system was down and It wasn't my fault, people looked sorry but no one apologized, what do you think?

If you see it from another side, the week started badly but it will surely improve, I assure you.

And yet here we are, after the fact, and live moves on. It's not your fault that person had a temper and you shouldn't take it personal, some people are just rude plain and simple

Sorry to hear you had to deal with that. Working in this field has made me realize that there's a lot of people out there who don't know how to act graciously with inconveniences

ugh, nothing worse than rude clients. Cheer up though we all go through it and we gotta be strong in the face of these things!!

It happens. Their reality is not your reality. This person may just be in a-hole or maybe they’re dealing with something horrible and they took it out on you. It doesn’t make it right but it doesn’t have to define your experience of the situation.

Comforting others:
When someone tells me bad news regarding their health, I say everything I am supposed to say (I’m sorry to hear that, I’m here for you, etc) EXCEPT “everything is going to be ok”. Because I can’t guarantee that and I really don’t know if everything is going to be ok. I was taken aback recently when a friend told me I am calloused and cold-hearted for not being able to say those words. Is she right? Should I start saying this for the purposes of providing comfort only??

Hi, I'm an employee at a hotel chain who works remotely. I've been working remotely for over a year now and I love it! The company I work for is very supportive of remote workers, which is great.

But there's one thing that's been bothering me: it's hard to get feedback on my work when I'm not in the office. It would be great if there was some kind of system that let me know how my performance was being evaluated while I'm working on projects from home.
