When I had 3 jobs, I was so overwhelmed. One job ended up letting me go because I'm sure they had a feeling something was up. 2 jobs is more manageable. But I would like to go back to 3 if possible to also make extra $$ for house work, travel... I understand where you're coming from, but in the end, make sure your stress level is manageable and the workload doesn't affect family life or mental health.
JuSt started J2 last week and have a J3 contract position lined up. I need to pay for private school tuition and a car for my teenager
2-3 years max. I see me getting burnt out for sure.
Well… I was in the mortgage industry. And made almost 6 figures.. got laid off so I took the first job which matched hourly but I was still missing what I got on my commission check gave soooo in comes j2…. So now that I’m back to normal I need j3 in order to save since j1/j2 pays for the basics since inflation is a biooootch
I just recently started J2 on a part-time basis and I’m considering taking on J3 since J1 is slow. But J2 is a 12month contract and I just want the extra funds to travel and decorate my home.
I should also mention J1 is my only FTE role. J2 and J3 both contractor positions. However I’m starting to bet more on these contractor roles than I am my full time job. I’m torn between the constant hustle of padding your pipeline for new contract gigs even if it is after a year or two to continue this madness and pay for more stuff or to just settle down into a nice FTE role that pays well but still only 50% of what I could make holding multiple (2) contract positions.
Hell yeah!! Thanks for sharing. Love this mentality. I hope you find something amazing to do with your extra earnings!
How are you getting these contract roles? I've applied to many on LinkedIn and haven't any real bites.
I don’t really know haha for whatever reason recruiters are reaching out to me on LinkedIn (I have open to work specific to contract roles setting on my LinkedIn) and then I interview and get the job for some reason lol. Instructional Design coupled with strong tech skills I feel is kind of rare so maybe that’s why?
