Laid off from Intel June 2023, then got a job with Intel a year ago that lasted only until March 2024.

Laid off twice in a year. Some of that is due to me hitting what Indeed called this week "declining years" (at age 53! What happened to working until 72!?) but I'm only hitting a 50:1 ratio for applications to interviews.

I realize I'm at the top of my earning potential in my field (data and data analysis) and Intel in the last 3 years dumped 25,000 people on the market, but really?

Currently a senior commercial underwriter Working on finishing up my CPCU as I only have 2 exams left. Was curious to know
what kind of Salary impact this had for others who got the designation, if any?

My career goal isn’t to make it to MBB or a unicorn or FAANG. It’s to feel fulfilled and challenged as I progress. I can’t be the only one that isn’t title or company chasing.

Follow up post to my last post…My husband was laid off from the company where I also work. I am feeling really isolated / depressed about working and moving forward. 6 months pregnant and just laid off. And 40% of my severance was just taken in taxes .. I just spoke with paid family leave and I no longer qualify even though I had been paying into the program (thanks NY).. I already applied for unemployment but doctors are telling me I’ve got 10-14 weeks left in this pregnancy.. so stressed having twins and being unemployed, no maternity leave, no paychecks coming in, and I’ve been applying but not a single interview.. just ugh. 😭

The severance package at Meta for laid off employees almost makes it nice to be laid off depending on what your personal situation is….. personally wouldn’t mind getting 4+ months of full pay to reset and think about what’s next 😬
