Last week in logistics, a driver called me panicking because his GPS kept rerouting him into a cornfield. Turns out the system had updated and was convinced a brand-new highway ran straight through Farmer Joe’s land. He actually asked if he should “just follow it and trust the map.” I said, “Unless your truck can harvest corn, please don’t.” Ever wonder how often tech makes our jobs crazier instead of easier?

Oh! The poor guy 😆. You are right, this map thing sometimes makes your job harder. I once took an Uber and I already knew my way from that point to my home but this map gave a very long address to the driver. I simply asked him to follow my instructions instead of listening to google.

Haha, sometimes trusting your own instincts beats any app. Maps can make things way more complicated than they need to be.

That’s awful yet very amusing. I hope he was able to get to his destination safely

This happened to me this weekend! I was sent to the wrong city because the GPS was acting up. It made me realize how much I depend on my technology working in order to just exist in the world.

Oh wow, GPS fails are brutal. Makes you realize how lost we’d be without tech doing the thinking for us.

Few tips to improve your visual design skills

- Learn Typography: Typography is essential because 60-70% of user interfaces are about written content displayed in a meaningful way.

- Learn Layout and Composition: You don’t need to be pixel perfect, but if you place labels 10px above inputs, you must do that consistently across your whole design.

- Learn Color: Color doesn't need to be complex. Understand how colors interact with each other and learn how color can set moods.
