I managed to control it down to a1c of 5.1 with no meds. I do keto and IF.

I’m getting there. I guess not being into drinks helps a lot. Besides that, sleep, exercise and measured intake of food.
What is IF?
Intermittent fasting I believe... like the 5:2 (5 days healthy Mediterranean meals and 2 days of 800 calories) or 12:12 which is fast 12 hours a day and eat within the remaining 12 hrs ... there are variations on each of these ...
you should look up Dr Moseley and the Blood Sugar Diet / Fast 800 etc
