I’ve been working as a RPA developer for 4 years. I joined a program that trained me in this role as a opportunity to start a career when my initial plan fell through. I’ve don’t pretty good so far…given multiple roles, pay increases etc. Honestly I don’t enjoy my job anymore and would like to make a change. I want to transition to a tech Product Owner/Manager role. Any advice on how to transition ?

Best ways to improve leadership skills? Trying to build up the skill set for a PM role and I have next to no manager/leadership experience. What are the do's and don'ts of leading a product team, (or any team) and the traits you'd most want to see or have as a leader?

Is it ok to tell your boss/job that you're looking to transition to product, and tell recruiters you're looking for roles in product before you've quit your other job? Or should I wait until I get an offer before telling anyone. I don't want to lose my job or disappoint my boss but product is where I want to end up and I'm working towards that.

At the moment i manage a team of 5 industrial designers for b2b sustainable fashion and retail interiors. The methodologies and processes are quite similar between physical and digital design so i feel i should not start from a junior position, however my portfolio contains only physical. Context, i have 10+ years in advertising experience, and founded a startup in 2020 (with a Sr Developer as cofounder) but had to drop the startup for personal reasons (moving to another country) and i really liked building a product and getting technical.
