Looking for advice please! I’ve got an appraisal coming up and my boss has said that as I’m “exceeding expectations” for my current role, he’d like to talk to me about an expanded role with new opportunities. The reality is I’ve got a 2-year old and am really struggling, especially with WFH. It’s not just a workload thing, it’s also headspace. I know deep down I’m not in a position to take on any more for the foreseeable future. How do I say this without jeopardising my career?

A long post: seeking some perspective. My husband of 2 years that I’ve been in a relationship with for more than 8 years just woke up one day and told me that he’s unhappy in our relationship. Unfortunately, he didn’t have any more specific information other than what I would be doing is “generally commercial litigation.” Can anyone share insights on what this may entail? Hello there! I currently work in billing at a medical office. I got my Bachelors in Psychology a few years ago but I couldn’t find a position that seemed like a good option for me that was well paying and fulfilling. I tried working as a tech at an Applied Behavior Analysis clinic but it wasn’t a good fit. I’m hesitant to try case management or social work because I worry I won’t like it but I want to use my degree in Psychology. Does anyone have any ideas for me?

How does contract to hire work? If I’m offered $37/hr on w2 for 3 months and then possibly a permanent position, how much can I expect to get annually as a full time company employee as a BI data analyst II? I have a M.S. and certificates in DA but this will be my first job as DA.
I prefer working for what is offered on contract without negotiating, and then negotiate when I transition into the company itself so I have a better chance of getting the contract position and show my skills.

I’m having a really hard time with my changing body. 13 weeks, I don’t have too many bad side effects of pregnancy or anything so I consider myself lucky (no nausea ever etc) but I’m depressed at work, my skin is completely broken out and showing new broken face capillaries, and I’m not showing a bump yet so I just feel fat and big. I don’t know where this “glow” is but I look in the mirror and literally am grappling with not recognizing myself :( it’s been impossible to find any clothes too.

I’m four months into my job and I got put onto a PIP. I worked so hard to break into IB, put up all the hours and even working 2am nights for weeks, learned a ton, and improved a lot along the way as the sole analyst yet this happens. I’m extra worried because it doesn’t seem there’s IB analyst positions out there. Im really hoping come January more positions come up but I’m just praying they don’t fire me until then.
