Looking for advice: Will a PTMBA or Online MBA have any impact on my career trajectory? Currently 3YOE in HC/LS consulting (analytics) + 3YOE past federal consulting + 4YOE past academia experience + advanced degree + non-MBA masters before that. TC is 175k, no stocks. I can not do anything and hope to make partner in 5-6 years or try PTMBA or OMBA if it’ll help me secure something more lucrative. Cannot do FTMBA. Married, no kids Thank you!

White male, 3.6 GPA at top public school (like UVA), 700 GMAT, 3.5 years work experience (2y in big 4 MC, 1.5y in corp dev), letter of rec from HBS grad CFO of my company.

When would be the right time for me to get an MBA given my background?

I was a teacher for 4 years and transitioned into the corporate world. I have 6 months experience in marketing and that’s what I currently do, but plan for a lateral move in the future. I’ve seen suggestions of 3-7 years experience - does my teaching experience factor in? Or should I consider the 3-7 years only of my corporate time? Or is an MBA sooner a good move because of my big career transition (and future lateral)?

How do I avoid coming off as a “smart but lazy” applicant? Have very high test scores but very low gpa.

HYPSM ug in econ, 3.7gpa, GRE 169v/163m. 4 years exp (age 25) on matriculation (2 MBB, 2 int development). No promos.

ECs: founded social enterprise, journalism (on health, environmental inequities etc) at top pubs, published academic research, 4 yrs volunteering as advisor for social entrepreneurs. Recs good not amazing.

Im strongly considering an MBA. Only thing that deters me is cost. I’ve heard of some tier 1 firms that will offer tuition reimbursement for returning interns post-MBA, how common is that? Also considering pivoting to a firm that offers scholarships. Any tips/insight on this? Thank you!
