Keep getting feedback that I don’t come off as excited for the role. Not sure how to fix this as I prepare a lot of these interviews and truly am interested in them... any advice?

Every time I come into a room I run down the seats and give everyone high fives. Every time.

I have gotten this feedback on actual cases too. My nature is to be really relaxed and not too frazzled, which can come off as apathetic. I realized I needed to do better to “match” the excitement/stress level of my managers, so they see themselves in me. For interviews, I’d try the same. Match their level of engagement and style of speech and you should be fine

Thanks BCG1! Definitely something I’m going to be more aware of moving forward. Didn’t realize that being too composed would come off as negative and need to find the right balance

Smile and don’t speak in a flat tone?

Try acting more excited? This doesn't have anything to do with how prepared you are for the interview questions. Smile more, speak enthusiastically. Ask lots of questions about the role. Convince them that this is your dream job, even if it's not.

Stay hydrated on your caffeine to ensure you are hype for the interview

It’s a weird piece of feedback cause on my project teams I’m always told I have a lot of excitement. Wonder if I’m too serious during my interviews and just need to relax a bit? I was told I’m a “great professional speaker” which may also mean I am boring lol

like

Drink coffee beforehand. This has always worked for me!

I usually just smile and say I’m excited about the potential opportunity 😂 they can’t tell me I don’t seem excited if I say it

Gotcha!

Could you try doing a mock interview with a friend/colleague and have them record it on video?

Thanks!

In my organization, most with my role are commission based. I make a set salary due to the firm I work for as an account manager/ coordinator for clients… I coordinate their enrollments, working with each groups HR department as to benefits and payroll purposes, and schedule our benefit counselors accordingly. I am finding that in most cases where I compare the voluntary benefits industry, I might be underpaid. What is an appropriate base salary for a position in which commission is replaced?

I recently learned from 3 different employees that left (voluntarily) they were making 98-105k. They were outside candidates and were all hired within the last year and for the same position, and same regional territory. I have worked for the company 3+ years and went from a core position, to large loss. I was given a 10k raise putting me around 78k. Yes.... some of these individuals have Lardge Losss experience but does that really make a 20-25k difference? Any advise!?
