Go remote if you can. Miami salaries are typically a joke compared to NYC. I left Miami once remote work ended - wasn’t about to take a job making 50k+ less per year.
If you're still with pwc and get permission that's fine. If regular pwc they will downgrade your salary if at Strategy& than salary should stay the same.
Hard to find jobs in that industry here unless you have a Latin American focus. I got a job at a client and was able to get permission to work at their local branch office for my 3 office days. I was lucky most would not get that.
Stay in NYC, we don’t need more New Yorkers
Strategy consulting here as well. My firm did not lower my salary when I moved. Super happy with my pay and the cost of living in Miami + no state/city tax. Let’s say just the tax savings alone pay for 3 international vacations easily and I’m an upper market traveler.
At the end of the day, it comes down to what you value. I’m an introvert who value space and I felt like life in NYC was very public, constantly with people all the time - walking the streets, taking the subway. I was also done with my tiny apartment. The winter months in Miami are also fantastic.
Professionally, my practice operates on a national model, meaning I’m not disadvantaged for promotion or project opportunities at all.
Comes down to pay and what you value I guess. If you’re in the top 5% in individual income, you’ll be fine here. Money goes further (but I’m also responsible).
Why do you want to move? I also moved 3 years ago with PwC as well.
