I haven't met any hoarders and i can imagine it is hard but like you said at least they are bringing in the animals for care and not abandoning them.
Yes, it is very sad - I have only worked with a few, but they have been difficult experiences because I am angry that they have mistreated the animals, even if it wasn't intentional.

It truly does take everything inside of me to keep it together. I have seen animals come from hoarding situations so sick and malnourished. It just breaks my heart.
No, I haven't. I would never wish to meet one. Especially that I am a professional that works for the welfare of the animals. It just disgusts me.
Fortunately, I haven't encountered one yet. I'm quite confident that I can maintain my cool and composure in front of them. But it would be challenging if they start arguing with me about pet care.
I've met two in the past. I cannot forget how hard it was to talk to them professionally as they were insisting on what they believed is right.
