You may get the chance to learn new skills and gain knowledge that will help you be a better supervisor, the program could be worth it in the end, I think.
It depends on you honestly. Is it worth it to you? My motto is this: it’s a yes or no. You already know the answer. You just want to be able to validate your thinking. if you have to ask yourself that and spend more than 30 seconds thinking about it, then it may not be something you should continue pursuing. On the other hand, if you can visualize positive changes that may come from it in those same 30 seconds, then you might be on the right path.
It depends on what you hope to get out of the program. If you're looking for guidance and support from your peers, then it sounds like the program might not be worth it. It seems like they're not there for you.
I’m interested to hear about this Supervisory Training Program they are offering you? Most of the information to become someone in leadership is listed on MyApron. Start shadowing people in our departments and start speaking to people about your interest. Make sure your manager is aware that your doing so and it tends to put fire under their butts a little to see your seriousness. Wish you the best of luck!
