Amen, I felt like I was the only one working.
Yeah pretty much. We've been running with 2 bussers for the past 3 months. Service is so hectic because of it and my manager still doesn't seem to think it's a problem 🙄

That's because the job is still getting done. Maybe slow down and watch the chaos continue to unfold until they hire more!
Multitasking is a skill you need, but it is a crossed line when it’s just doing everyone else's work. Which is unfortunately something that happens a lot. Comes down to poor management and favoritism most of the time.

Multitasking in hospitality often means understaffed. When one role turns into three with no adjustment in pay, burnout is inevitable. Efficiency is one thing, but consistently absorbing unfilled positions without support is just cost cutting pushed onto frontline staff.

Yeah, “multitasking” often ends up meaning stretched thin. Helping out is part of the job, but when extra roles become the norm, it’s really a staffing decision, not a skill requirement. If the workload consistently covers multiple positions, that’s fair grounds to raise the conversation about support or pay.
