Didn’t live in Cambridge but in Somerville at Davis square which is the next town over. Very peaceful area filled with yuppies and great culture.
Depends on what your parents need honestly. For early 20s a place in Inman or near central is great but your folks may want something different. You could do near the alewife area or over the border in Somerville or Medford to get a little more space and quiet.
I've lived in Cambridge, it's nice but I throw up whenever I think about all the Prius' and dickish cyclists.
Which area do you prefer?
I currently live in Cambridge and it is a great area where there are several grocery stores nearby (Trader joes, whole foods, hmart, etc) and most shops are open given covid19. The T station is close by so you can easily travel around Boston.
It has been nice to be within walking distance to all the shops/stores and go on walks/runs by the river. Rent may be high around this area but I've enjoyed having so many things accessible
Used to live in mid-Cambridge (between Harvard and Central) and loved it. Quiet neighborhood, close to both centers. DM me if questions
